When the baby layette is ready, the next step is to look for ingenious gadgets that will help parents in caring for their baby. Some of them absorb babies and provide them with long moments of play, while others give parents a sense of security that they have their baby under control. Which one is worth buying?
Care and protection
One of the most frequently purchased gadgets is the baby monitor. The device can show an image as well as emit only voice (depending on the model). An electronic nanny is an investment for years, because it will be useful for an infant, a toddler, and even an older child. It will allow parents to keep an eye on the baby when he sleeps in his crib, and also the baby who plays alone in his room.
Thanks to it, you know if your baby starts to spin and cry, for example by signaling the need to change a nappy even when you are in another room, and sometimes even on a different floor in the house. Remember to always have good-quality diapers on hand, which you can conveniently change for your child. It is worth paying attention to the products of the Polish brand Bambino, which are much cheaper than diapers of foreign brands, and at the same time do not differ in quality.
A breathing monitor is also practical and helpful. This compact device detects when your baby has stopped breathing and triggers an alarm as soon as it senses an apnea. Thanks to the monitor, parents can sleep more peacefully, without getting up to their baby on a regular basis. In the event of stopping breathing, the alarm allows for a quick response and, as a result, minimizes the risk of the so-called cot death.
Bouncers, swings and merry-go-rounds
The bouncers, as well as the interactive “rockers” swings for babies, are helpful in caring for your baby. They are light and easy to use, so they can be placed in any room, and even in the garden.
The rockers are powered by batteries and usually have several operating modes. They are equipped with a baby rocking system (there can be several speeds), music, vibrations, as well as an interactive panel or pendants on a headband, with which the toddler can play. The rockers rock the baby to the rhythm of a pleasant and calm melody back and forth, like traditional swings. Seat belts protect the toddler from falling out.
The recliners are not interactive, but they can be slightly rocked up and down. Mothers most willingly reach for them when the baby falls asleep, and also when they want to put the baby down to, for example, prepare dinner, and keep the baby in sight. The bouncer can be easily moved to any place.
Cot carousels are also recommended. The little ones are eager to stretch their hands up and try to catch the spinning mascots, while the mother can take care of changing the baby during this time. Many carousels also have a projector option, such as stars, which are displayed on the ceiling or wall to the baby and make it easier to fall asleep.
Scarf and carrier
There are more and more mothers who carry babies in a sling, because it is not only a moment of closeness, but also a convenience, e.g. while walking in the park, in the forest or when going out shopping quickly. Newborns can already be worn in scarves.
Older children who sit independently can be carried in ergonomic slings. The scarves and slings are available in many designs and colors, both for boys and girls.
Health and well-being
If your baby suffers from colic, get a hot water bottle. With the youngest in mind, hot water bottles-mascots were created, into which a gel insert is inserted. They are safe for the child and their appearance encourages them to hug each other.
It is also worth having a non-contact thermometer in the first aid kit. It will quickly and easily show the temperature, it is non-invasive, so you can also use it while your baby is asleep.
